All the files you can download from fanedit.info are dlc files, stored in rar archives.

WHAT ARE DLC FILES?

A DLC file is a container for links from various filehosting services (Rapidshare, Megaupload, etc).
To open it you need

jdownloader: http://jdownloader.org/

Installation:

unpack the rar file. Run Jdownloader.jar (java must be installed on your system, it works for every OS). Done.

How does it work?

Jdownloader is a download manager with a lot of advantages when used with common filehosting services (Rapidshare, Megaupload, etc). It was especially designed to work with those and to be very comfortable and easy for free members (those who have not paid for an account with a filehoster).
Jdownloader gets rid of the captcha (if not it will pop up for you to just enter it) and it will wait all by itself until the service for download is available. This means you do not have to manually check all the time, if you can download the next file again. For premium members it can be configured to use the accounts and will of course download with full speed.
It is also able to use a password and do the unpacking if you want it to. Jdownloader understands a vast variety of archived files and you will not need winrar or other software to do the unpacking.
As such it solves almost every problem that downloaders have with files on filehosting services.
For the uploaders it offers a good link protection.

Usage:

Jdownloader adds links to the linkgrabber (where it also does a check if they are available or not.
You can also add them manually by clicking in the “linkgrabber” on “add links”. For DLC files click on “add container files.”
Now select the links or link selection you want to download by clicking on it.
On the left bar, click on “add selected packages” –> the links will now be added to downloads.
Switch to “downloads” and click the play button on the top left.

adding a password before downloading:
If the password is not part of the dlc or linklist, double click on the host the linklist shows.  Add the archive password in the window that has opened.

downloading from a different file hoster:
If your download does not start, check if you already agreed to the file hoster’s AGB:
Go to configuration –> select the host –> read their AGB and accept them.
Now your download should work properly

corrupted files:
Files can come down corrupted for various reasons and most of the time not because the file was uploaded in a corrupted version.
The corrupted file will show in jdownloader with a red X. Select the link, right click and use “reset” to download it again.
